Where to begin...first off, before we went on vacation in mid-July, we had green coralline and when we returned, the coralline was gone and things just didn't look right...there is now red slime showing up all over (see pics). What can we do to get rid of the red slime? Also had questions about the power-heads...should they be placed lower in the tank (mid-tank level vs. where they are now...see pic)? Should we move the rocks around to get more flow in the tank (the red slime is growing where the flow is decreased/none)? The fish are still alive...as for the hermit crabs and the emerald crab...probably not...but the snails are still going to town. We did notice when we returned from vacation that the mushroom we had is now dead...will that grow back? Someone told me that it could, but just wanted to double check before I remove it. When we got back we also noticed a webbing type of thing on the bottom of the tank, but it's gone now...not sure what that was...ALSO...would it be beneficial to add another power-head to the back of the tank blowing to the front of the tank? Is a UV stabilizer good for the tank...we've gone this long with our tank and never was informed that we needed one and it had been good, up until we went away...go figure. What are the benefits, etc? Should we really get one, is it necessary? One last question...how do I get the coralline to grow back in the tank without adding chemicals? Thanks so much! Hope that these pics will help! Max...

Need a bunch of questions answered first.
What are the following readings in your tank?
SG
Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium
Ammonia
Nitrites
Nitrates
Phosphates
Temp
What size tank, and whats the current flow?
Running a Sump?
Running a Skimmer?
How old are the lights? What type of lights are they?
If the mushroom is dissolving, its probably a gonner.
You can run Chemipure Elite, or GFO or something along those lines to help clear up the water and get rid of the Cyano.
But you have something going on in there. Are we overfeeding the tank?

Ok I do not have Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium tester the the SG is 1.028 I know that is high I just added saltwater today, hp is 8.0, ammonia is 0, Nitrites is 0, Nitrates is 0, Phosphates is . the temp is 76 and the tank is a 55g long tank. I have one 850 power head and one 800 power head in the tank. I am running a sump with a protein skimmer. we got a T5 lighting in May.
