Is it possible for the water to get cloudy with too much calcium? I ask because I think I overdosed it last night as my water this morning waqs quite cloudy and tested my level of calcium which was off the scale by at least 50 ppm. I am getting ready for a water chnge, any other tips would be greately appreciated.

I agree that calcium at reasonable levels does not cause rapid precipitation and cloudiness. If what you mean is 550 ppm, that isn't likely to be it.

If you overdosed alkalinity at the same time, that could be it.

Or it might be a bacterial bloom.

Can you list everything you are adding?

I am using seachem calcium additave and alkalinity buffer as my ph was down around 7.9-8. this morning my tak is crystal clear so it must have been the combination of the 2.
