Is it possible to have too much Coralline algae in a tank?

Letting it mostly take over the sides of the tank, except for the front.

I am keeping my dkH between 8 and 9 with All-For-Reef. (2 ml per 10 gallons per day.)

I would assume being a plant, it would consume CO2 and raise tank ph with higher O2 levels?

And consumes nutrients too.

But also absorb light that would normally be reflected off the glass.

Like moss around a potted orchid.

Too much may be too much calcium

There are no negative effects except it increases Ca and bicarb utilization and you need to scrape it off the aquarium walls. . It's a sign of a healthy reef tank.
