Too much flow for hammers?

That doesn't appear to be too much flow.

Yeah, they can take a lot more than that, and will probably extend more with more flow.
Watch some movies of them on the reef.
I found the complete opposite in my tank. Went for moderate flow with little to no growth down to lower flow and hammers went from 2 heads to 12 heads in a matter of months. Perhaps there are differences by regions where they are collected.

That's possible. And it's also possible very similar types of euphyllia adapt to their own conditions.
