Hey, my LFS gave me a free tiny blue hammer as a gift for coming in literally every weekend+ for the past 4 months.

I’ve been moving this guy all over my tank and I can’t find a place where the flow is low with good lighting.

Ya its tricky finding right spot. Imo they can get use to any lighting but they do not like alot of flow. Will retreat into skeleton

i finally got mine happy when i placed a rock straight up and down next to it

Salinity is too high IMO might want to bring that down. Hammers and torches like higher magnesium as well. Have you tested for it?

Yeah salinity is high, my ATO system malfunctioned. Haven’t tested for magnesium, don’t have a kit, but my LFS tested my magnesium yesterday and it was ~1350 ppm

I know growth rate all depends on the type, but averagely how long do they take to grow in decent parameters with feeding ? From where I’m at now, to let’s say the one you have.
This dude I picked up as a tiny little thing in April , took about a month to settle in and has about tripled in size since beginning of july, right around 1 yr mark. I run pretty high import/export emphasis on the import but once you get it happy will grow very fast. I’ve see. In sand bed all the way to the top of tank like mine, less recommended but whatever works in your tank!
