So I recently purchased a Sicce 4.0 pump from BRS but its putting too flow through my plumbing and is making it incredibly loud. Could I put a valve on my return line or something similar to that? I think part of the problem is that on my main drain, I go from 1.5 inch PVC to 1 inch PVC. Really open to any suggestions at this point

A gate or ball valve between your pump and your DT would do the job of throttling back the flow. Just make sure to place it after the pump.

This is good advise and will not hurt the pump at all and actually make it draw less current. What I have is a T after the pump with a line that goes back to the sump and a ball valve on that. The purpose for me is just to get more circulation in the sump, however it does reduce the flow back to the display depending on how much you open it.

+1 to this suggestion! Much better to divert IMO than to simply restrict. This also gives you options for running a reactor off your main return, for example.

Sicce pumps have adjustable flow which you engage by turning the dial on front; I believe the 4.0 has this feature and you might try that first.

Tried that first and it didnt do a whole lot for noise reduction

Are you getting pump operating noise or is it actually the flow through the pipes you are hearing? Throttling will not reduce noise from pump operation, if anything it will make it louder.

Its not the pump, its the flow coming into the sump. It sounds like a waterfall in my living room lol
