Guys I got this fan, not sure the best way to set it up, I have it on a mode where it spins then stops then spins

Lowest setting, random setting and point it so the current blows over the rocks the length of the tank. Start low and go higher if needs be

Hold down button that says mode/night and little orange light will appear above the picture of moon, this will automatically turn to minimum settings (night mode) once all lights are off (there's a light sensor on the front) or if this is covered.
I cover the front with a box to put in night mode earlier
Also on that pulse setting W1 I believe the knob you turn this determines the length of pulse, so slow setting with knob, left is a short pulse, if turned to right pulse is longer
