Hello. I’ve been struggling with flow in my tank for my torch. I have bought a jecod sow4 and have just installed it. It’s blown my tank to bits. I’ve turned everything down to its lowest setting. Could anyone tell me if this is too much flow please? I feel like it probably is but just want to be sure.

From what I can tell, No its not too much flow. In fact, I would say you need more flow in that system over all. Just an oppinion. If you're concerned about the torch you could stick it under that arc. You could populate your euphyllias, anything like that, in an area of your tank that will have less flow, usually low and behind or in front of a rock. I don't know how big your tank is but the wave maker you mention is very light duty and probably best suited for surface agitation which in turn will get it away from the lower part of your tank where your torch "could" be. Good luck!

Hey. Thanks for that. I just am worried it will tear it apart. My hammer coral isn’t enjoying being blown about either. The tank is only a 13.5gal.

Ya, I have an SW4 on a 10 gal QT tank that I keep. Try it on sine wave or random and try getting the head as close to the surface as you can without creating cavitation, you might have to get clever about where you direct the flow and where you position those types of corals in a tank that size. Judging by the algae though I would say you are lacking flow.

Looks just about right. Many are under belief they need to be waving at a certain pattern and actually it is to keep waste off of them and deliver food to them.
You want them moving just as you see in your videos and not bent over the Skeleton which risks tearing the polyps off the skeleton.
Assure calcium is no less that 380 and there skeletons need it for growth and protection

Looks just right to me, similar to the waving of my torches. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Ah thank you and thanks vetteguy53081. Unfortunately I’ve read this a little late and have moved it lower in my tank. I’ve grown it from one to 3 almost four heads and have a real attachment to it. I just don’t want to kill it with flow.

Good flow!

Thanks for all your comments everyone.

I’m really happy with it now. Hope the corals will be too!
