I setup my tank about 1 month ago and fish had been it for now over 3 weeks.
I know it might be a bit 2 early, but as I had the chance to source it (Got it from guy with fish)and very hard to get corals here, I went ahead and got a green bubble tip Anemon. (will not run around and destry corals by adding later)
He told me its a dark green one and its about 3-4 inches when attached and happy.
I currently have my salinity level at 1.022 as I'm in the process of adding fish. (Red Sea SPS salt mix)

Anyway The anomon came with my anthias and a hermit crab and I also asked for 2 clowns and a fairy wrasse which he could not source . I bought them at a bit of premium 2 days later.
They traveled about 3.5 hours on a motor cycle in a fish bag last sunday night by the time I recived them.

To the Important part :
When I added it to the tank it latched it to where I want in the rockwork. After about 1 hour, when I put the lights on with bit of flow, it was siting nicely where I put it.
But during the night it had moved inside my rocks near there. It had been living inside there for 2 days. I read this is quite normal for a new anomon, so I did not worry too much.
Yesterday evening I bought 2 Clarkii clows. I saw the medium sized clown notice the anemon when I turned the lights off and wanted to get to it but he was a tad 2 big to get inside the rockwork so he gaveup.
When I checked in after like 3 hours at night saw that the anomon was coming out slightly and on the morning it had comeout. But with its foot inside the rock cave.

The Big clown was hosting it and when i Fed in the morning it was feeding the anemon and all seemd great.
But the thing is my setup for standerd light I use a clip on LED with low light that cant be giving out mroe than 40-50 PAR.
I had setup for my custom LED lights (Main light) to come on only for about 2 hours as not much was in the tank.

As you might have gussed where this is going!
The anemon had retreated back when the new LED lgiths came up. And now even after its gone off still hiding inside the cave.
Its now seems to be facing a backside of the tank also and maybe a small opening might be there for my clown to get near it. Cause he took some food to feed it couple of times when I fed.

The maim LED light is only 24W custom built one(Check my build thread please) but hangs only 3 inches above the water. Becasue its soo close to the surface I have diffused the LEDs
It gives out about 12000lux at water surface and around the point where the Anemon was at, can't be having mroe than 200 PAR.

I read somewhere that rose bubbletips need a lot of Light and Green bubbletips coem from deeper water. So require lower PAR.

Sorry for rambling on. If want a TLDR:-
My Dark green buble tip doesn't seem to like any Decent amount of light and hides when ever light is bright.
Does this mean I have to keep my tank as a really low par ?
Any advice?

I do not know everything about your setup and it sounds like you have a young tank with other variables. FWIW, I keep my green BTA at 175 PAR currently. For a while he was at 225 PAR. I have seen a red BTA climb the rocks to PARs of as high as 600. In my opinion, I would shoot for a target PAR of 200-225 with a green BTA and would assume it could handle higher. Flow is also important. Mine handles hefty flow from the random flow returns, a power head and a gyre.

One other thing, in my experience, the most important aspect of a happy Bubble Tip Anemone is that he feels secure with his foot firmly planted in a crevice or hole. He will search for such a spot if not placed in one.

Beautiful Clarkiis too, BTW.

FWIW, My nems hate low salinity, I target for my nems 1.024 - 1.026 with the 1.026 being my optimum target. You could raise your parameters and acclimate your live stock and your nem might perk up.

He seems to have a firm footing inside that cave for sure atleast :D.
Today night after lights went off he again came out (Just tentacles foot inside) partially.
Today morning when I checked he was still out before the lights were on and clown on it.
I did a feeding before the lights came out and maybe he got spooked when I lifted the hood (Still the Fish gets spooked in the morning and hide a bit, before racing in for food)
He again slide back inside the cave again by the time I left house.
Not completely hidden like 1st 2 days but still inside the cave where no light comes.

Maybe the stupid thing is thinking as long as clarkii is feeding it it doesn't need any light.

Well I didn't put the strong light at all today and let it run on low light set. Low and behold the BTA is out whole day today all perky and getting fed by the clown :)

I know this thread is old but I'm jealous how dedicated your clown fish is to his anemone.
