Getting consistent readings of 300+ on the sand bed. Is this too much and should I turn the lights down? Tank will be SPS dominant.

How tall is the tank and what are your reading at the top of you aquascape?

Running 6 XR30 G4 Pros over a 225 12" above waterline running AB+ @100%. Have diffusers, should i install them or lower %?

Is this a new tank? If so you need to turn them down. The height is fine. I have 4 mounted about the same height running at 50% wirh diffusers.

I've been told by other reefers that they "bake" their SPS with light. Guess I should have asked what they mean by "bake."

Have a few frags and all are doing well so far. PE being displayed and no color lost as of yet.

You might get away with the easy hardy sps. However, every tank is different but what I suggested is a safe measure which most reefers would agree

I understand........as you say every tank is different. This tank was setup with live rock from a previous setup that started leaking. I will lower the % for a few weeks and monitor the results.

6 radions , Same height ran them at 60% no diffusers. Added t5 running them at 50% now getting 450 top 340 middle 240 sand. 100% seems a little high.

Yeah......think I'll lower them. I usually run MH which is pretty much plug & play. Still adjusting to the LEDs.

I noticed while they're set @ 100% they're actually running @ around 78%.

I would just raise the lights. Check out all the really successful led tanks you like. I did and noticed the only ones I liked ran their lights really high and kept them at 100%. Running led close to the water and at low percentages is not really using the light to it’s full potential imo.

To me raising too high looks ugly and if you’re constantly blasting at 100%, it shorten the life span of the light. But hey, that’s your light do what you like and if that yield good growth, go for it but just my opinion.

Bring it down to 300 and fine tune daily until you hit target.
