Is there such a thing as too much live rock as far as how much a tank can handle? (Weight wise?) I have a 90 gallon and currently have 80 lbs of rock, ordered another 40 cuz I need to fill in some spots and create more surface area for corals as well as caves for fish... thanks for input guys!

Can you post a pic of your tank? I’m having trouble picturing how you need more than 80lbs in a 90

If it were me I wouldn’t add any. I would break it up though and go less wall like. You could make separate islands and have one of them spread closer towards the front glass for coral placement

Once upon a time there was the Berlin method .
Pretty much suggesting 1.5 lbs per gallon and a decent skimmer was all the filtration required for a reef tank .

Many years later putting more than 1 lb per gallon only occupies too much space .
That being said.
I have close to 100 lbs in my 90 gal

I got an invite to do that, but it seems so confusing, I’m not sure how to do it! I would love to though to show all my work and progress! How quick did you fill your tank with corals. I have about 15 frags coming from the live sale, hoping I’m not adding too much at once. First corals in the tank.

do the build thread, get the badge and you and anybody can click and see and help, the 240 about 13 yrs

2 months, have all the necessary things, good skimmer, sump, bio media, already have coraline algae growth, all parameters are in check. And I have experience, about 10 years or so. Everything has been great. Good lighting also. I’m hoping I’m good to go. The skimmer has been pulling lots of “stuff” let’s pray all goes well! Lol
One question though- on the URL link you post to my tank thread- that’s where I’m confused. Idk what that would be... This is my first time in a forum so I’m a bit confused as how to do that part of it.

i had same prob asked staff ,think just copy and paste
