For me, primetime viewing is from 1 to 10 PM. So that’s when I have my lighting schedule. My tank is about 15 feet away from a very big picture window it doesn’t get any direct sunlight but nonetheless the room is very bright because it has a lot of windows.
So From eight in the morning till 10 at night because of that ambient light? I wonder if it stresses the corals from too long of a period

It shouldn’t stress your corals to much because they will only use the amount of light needed however over lighting can lead to potential algae issues, especially from natural light coming through windows.

Hi the only thing is, as long as your tank gets a period of total darkness to give your fish and corals a rest time, as certain corals retract within themselves at sleep time and as soon as sunrise appears they expand and come alive. Ambient light shouldn’t affect the corals, if anything it would be what ever lighting system you’ve got that will have more affect on corals, if you have control on your lights that can reduce the intensity you could probably drop it a little.

It is fine. What you have described has happened in my house for decades. In the summer here, the light enters the house at about 05:30, lights come on about 14:00 and stay on until about 22:00. Other parts of the year are less, of course. I have never had any algae problems.
