Too much Skimmer?

One of the LFS got in a used eshopps s300. He thinks it is a Gen2. The current gen says this skimmer is good for 250-350gal. My DT is 240gal and I have a sump that is holding about 50gallons, so I am sitting around 300 gallons. I currently have not coral, but plan for a mixed reef with little to no SPS. Is this too much skimmer? Thoughts on the Gen2? Thanks in advance

You can never have too big of a skimmer!
Unless it doesn’t fit, then I guess it’s too big.

If it were me personally, I’d look for bigger.

i pretty sure you can never have any equipment that is too big, and if it is a bit oversized you can blame it getting ready for your next bigger tank

I’ve found with “too much skimmer” it will pull a lot out then pull almost nothing and won’t be very consistent.

It’ll still work - just not “smoothly”.
