Too much skimmer ?

Someone is selling this skimmer for $50, somewhat locally.
Too much for a 55 gallon ?

As far as skimmers are concerned, I say you can't go too big, within reason of course. The reason is they are tuneable. You have control over the flow, contact time, and air to tune it to meet your needs. Additionally, when you upgrade to a larger tank you have one less piece of equipment to buy for the new setup.

P-Dub is right, tuneable and its a great skimmer IME. I tend to always go with a larger rated skimmer for my tanks due to bioload. But you just gotta be careful to not let that skimmer take out "too miuch" nutrients.
