Too much splashing ??

I bought my tank used and the way the overflow and return are set up it seemed really smart at the time. There’s a pvc piece that runs across the top with the return water, they drilled several holes so the water is dispersed across the length of the tank, the problem is it causes a lot of splashing that causes salt creep, I don’t want to turn my pump down too much but I’m not so sure the set up is good for my tank between the splashing and the evaporation.
It creates a lot of flow but I worry it’s too much
Advice ? Corals and fish are doing great it’s the evaporation and splashing that bothers me

The flow looks good to me, I wouldn't turn it down, and evaporation and salt creep are part of the hobby.

Would it be causing my salinity to increase?
My salinity was fine on Sunday now it’s a few points higher. I have a top off system in the sump but wonder if the splashing and evaporation in the display might cause the salinity to increase

for me the salt creep is so minimal that it doesnt affect the salinity.

Maybe you have some crazy splashing going on? lol if you post a video it would be easier to judge, you shouldnt have water flying around, just occassional micro splashes. Unless you cant stand the sight of any creep at all, thats different, I dont mind seeing it, I clean it only every couple of months

You could tap them open wider and screw in lock line connections which you can then point anywhere. Seems like you would need a lot of them unless you're willing to modify that horizontal pipe the flow comes out of.

There are also small tips you could put in those holes to better guide the water down. What happens if you loosen that pipe and just twist the holes down more and tighten it back up?

I might modify the pipe if I can’t control it
