I have a mixed reef 220 gallon. I have my return split into 4 with accelerators and a maxspect gyre set at about 80% on pulse.

My question is if this is outrageous of me to have my vortech mp60 set this high? I haven’t had this set up for more than a day and I haven’t seen anything bad happen yet. I just want to know if others have cranked their mp60s up this high.

I think it's more important to see what the flow is actually in the tank, than on a graph.
That graph isn't telling you how the corals or fish are reacting to the flow.

I have an MP10 and Jebao PP-4 in my 20 gallon long. They are both set to random flow mode up to 100%. The Jebao is about 1,000 GPH max, while the Vortech is about 1,500 GPH max. At times, if both pumps are running at 100%, my 20g is getting 2,500 GPH of flow (125x turnover).

If the flow is randomized and coming from several directions, and it's not directed at any corals, I think you'll be fine.

Give Dana Riddle's MACNA 2016 a look and you'll be adding another Vortech of two.

His talk was one of the reasons I went from two MP40's to now four MP40's and an MP10....in a five foot 90 gallon tank.

I cranked up my gyre and vortech after watching that... here we go!
