I am new to the Exotic Zoanthids and Palythoa collecting. What I would like to know is what is everyones top 3 favorites?

I personally think there's too much hype with the "exotic" zoas. There are many great looking zoas that are quite common. For a quick top three, I'd probably include:
Eagle Eyes

Radioactive Dragon Eyes

Orange Delights

original Armor of Gods are my favorite

Devils Armor

tie for 3rd

Armagedons (died on me a while ago)

PRPE's (but they are dying on me :( )

red wine/ruby reds (never did that good for me....were always small...didn't have the touch like Marvin does)

Desert Foxes (grow so insanely slow)

Dang this is tough!

If I had to pick three for how much I like them best to look at it would be raptor rainbows, Armageddon's, and Red Wines... :D

Then my other alter ego would take PPE, PPRPE, and PHE! :)

Al, you should consider adding T5 daylight bulbs to your reflector and running those midday in addition to your MH. I think it could have some real positive benefits, and look nice.

why daylights? i was going to add some blue-plus actinics to hopefully give some corals a little more *pop*

Because daylights would give you more usable light for photosynthesis. I think all the corals would gobble that stuff up.

You've already got good color with that 250W radium bulb. Adding actinics would just push it into the realm of a "black light"-esque effect. You might squeeze out a few more trippy colors from select colonies, but overall the corals won't really care.

So between the two options, I think the daylights have more benefit to make it worth the cost of adding more lights.

well, i'm thinking my zoas/chalices/acans/micros are already getting too much light. i had to move my plate coral under an overhang b/c it was getting beaten up by the light (even though its in the sand bed).

i'm sure the sps would be ok with it.....but not sure if the LPS would like it. i think they'd much rather have actinics.

:D I'm not so sure that too much light is something thats easily accomplished.

When I upgraded my lights recently and added the 250 on top of the 2 x 175s, the corals have been lovin' it.
