I've been away from reefing for a few years now. Catch me up on the latest and greatest in your opinion.

I'm wondering what's new and great in any category (controllers, pumps, salt, additives, small $20 items printed items that have made your life easier --- literally anything that has come out after 2020 but especially 21' and 22'.

Lesser known obscure stuff welcome!

This list is just from my view; I haven't been paying attention for a few years until recently.

Tanks
Peninsula Tanks - More vendors and manufacturers are making peninsula tanks. Waterbox is still in the lead on these tank styles with various sizes offered and some AIOs.

Jellyfish Tanks - TikTok has made these things famous, and all the kids have them.

PICO tanks - A few companies have started printing small 1g tanks that resemble miniature versions of peninsula tanks.

Coral Vendors
A few years ago, WWC offered the best of the best corals and had an excellent site for ordering. I would say that Top Shelf Aquatics has taken that #1 spot now.

TSA's site is amicable, and almost all the corals it appears are WYSIWYG (although it can sometimes be overwhelming). They also have pretty dope mini videos of the fish on their search results which is very cool.

BRS shipping still takes a week. Nothing new here.

Equipment
Hannah offers more types of checkers.

AI Nero has a smaller variant now with AI Nero 3.

Cool, what else is out there? Anything good in the additives, filter rollers, heaters, or controller areas?

For sure, there has!

I don't use any personally, but filter rollers have taken off in the last two years—more brands and sizes compared to 2 years ago.

Controller-wise, Coralvue has released Hydros, which is limited to pumps and water level/flow sensors.

Ohhhhh I forgot about the filter rollers. I still consider them too pricey for me to care XD

There are a few things that just came to mind. Red sea combined their coral separate bottles of reef energy into one. Now it is essentially the same as fuel by aquavitro but with less clarity on the ingredients. I'd say most standard equipment is about the same. Waterbox has a salt now, PNS bacteria have become increasingly popular (pns pro bio is the primary one). Hanna has a good nitrate checker (hanna HR) that I like using.

I'd say most of the new items are high end. This would be things like Radion G6, Kessil a500x, fancy new sump setups (one's with filter rollers built in), Neptune's light.

Bertram capital has funded BRS causing them to expand a bunch. BRS also bought Marine Depot, and later became a sister company to Neptune, Radion, and AI.

Good callout. Yeah BRS, Neptune, EcoTech, and Aqua Illumination are all run/owned by the same capital firm now.

I'd say that's not really true...

I mean for the most part, nothing dramatically has changed. Most lights have the same design except radion's. Heaters, powerheads, product line ups, tanks, salts, additives, etc. are all pretty much the same with the occasional change here and there (ex: all for reef now in a powder, reef energy now in 1 bottle, etc.). Nothing groundbreaking has happened. The only thing that comes to mind that is very unique would be the aquavitros skimmers and reactors.
