who here buffers their top off water with ph, alk, etc.....?

i don't on my main system since i run it thru kalk but i'm asking in regards to my 5 gallon nano...

TIA

I don't know how you buffer the pH without adding alk to the water.

I think adding your alk to your top off water is a pretty good idea to help keep your alk from dropping, since it changes quicker than your calcium.

I've been adding alkalinity buffer to my top-off reservoir for awhile now on my tanks that do not have a calcium reactor. It's made keeping the alkalinity level I want much easier.

If its RO/DI theer is no reason to buffer the pH. RO/DI has too few ions to register an accurate pH so testing is almost impossible and it quickly takes on the pH of whatever it is added to anyway.

That's interesting ...
