Just sitting around thinking about reefing supplies and wondered what was the top selling items were. Is it salt, test kits, lights, pumps, etc.

So what do you think are top selling items at online aquarium supply stores?

Maybe we could get @Bulk Reef Supply @MarineDepot @SaltwaterAq @AquariumSpecialty to chime in and give us a bit of insight!

Honestly, you could go anywhere to get a good filtration for your tank, pumps also.
Test kits I think the same thing with filtration, also equipment.
Water Treatment and Additives could kind of be the same thing but I think people would rather order this online as not many people have Fritz around or other good Additives so this is one of my votes.
Filter media is not my vote.
Fish food you could buy almost everywhere so I see no point in ordering online unless it is a special fish with special needs.
Lighting is 100% my vote because of it being cheaper online and it is easier to tell what you are getting with that light.

Now, something I think is an actual aquarium, now when I go into fish stores the fish tanks are way more expensive in the store and online I find them way cheaper than the store-bought ones.

Day in and day out, going with... Salt!

Dave Ramsey's paperback book on "Sell The Tank Because You Cant Afford It"

Dave Ramsey knows you're buying corals and he's VERY DISAPPOINTED in you.... that you're not working 4 jobs while he flies around in Lear Jets speaking at $100 plate dinners selling books....

He says, "Sell the Tank! GET BACK TO WORK! So you can buy more of my books"

Well ,, I voted for other ,, I started off buying salt online instead of the LFS ,, I am old ,, it was a pain having to carry the salt from the store to the truck ,, then from the truck to the back of the house where I kept it ,, better to have the young UPS driver bring it to my door ,, I can open up the 200g box of salt at the door and bring them in one at a time :)

My LFS is a pretty good drive from my house ,, they stopped selling my favorite test kit brand ,, I started buying more stuff online at BRS ,, I got addicted to having it delivered to my front door ,, I have progressed to the point that I pretty much only buy frozen fish food ,, the occasional frag or fish for my tank ,, I know ,, I shouldn't be doing this ,, but its a hard habit to break ,,

For reef products, we buy 90% on line. We can go to wholesales buy from them, but if at times we only need 200gal. Of salt. Then online, and always has to have free shipping, or we don't buy. Other 10% is used equipment or livestock at wholesaler
Haven't heard of us, Backwoods Lab, "instead of moonshine, we're trying to raise NPS softies. " our motto

The selection of lights and pumps is WAY better online than my LFS.

I have been buying everything on-line for my current 425g setup, may be the question should have been what do you buy from your LFS

I buy everything online now, fun part of not having an lfs around lol
