Top to middle coral?

It depends on what your par levels are, and your goals. Most people put lps and sps on the middle and top of a mixed reef, since the par levels are higher there.

Hey guys, just a quick question. I have a 40 gallon breeder mixed reef tank & was wondering if there is a preferred or recommended coral for middle to top of the tank. Thanks in advance, just trying to fill out some space.

Welcome! Glad you joined. Already good advice here, so I'll defer to others... though if you don't have canopy the mangrove look (out of tank!) is very popular around here. @AlgaeBarn usually has nice selection you might consider.

Red Mangrove

The red mangrove adds a unique touch to any saltwater, freshwater or brackish aquarium/refugium. Provided with intense illumination and some growing space, this plant is quite undemanding.
