Topless biocubes

I bought a Kessil 160WE to put over my biocube32. Now I need to figure out a top, since I don't want any jumpers.

Those who have removed the lid, how are you making tops for your biocubes? I'd like to stay away from egg crate.

Use egg crate and screen from BRS or BRS screen and Home Depot window frame!!!

I previously has the windows screen with 1/8th netting, I then added feeding station and couldn’t get internal corners to customize. So went with egg crate. I’m going to glue the 1/8th netting tomorrow!!!

Are you covering the entire lid with egg crate or only using it a round the edges? I don't want to block the light or have a fish jump into it and become injured.

Around the edges might work though

I went with the entire thing and will add screen on the bottom for now. Will ask around to get 3D printed internal corner and then make my custom screen.

That looks nice. I checked out Artfully Acrylic's site but the Biocubes aren't on their "premade" list so I couldn't get a price. Do you mind if I ask how much that was?

125 shipped. It’s 25 more for a feed door but I asked for a 1 inch hole for my finger to pick up for maintenance and more screen . Fits perfect [emoji1362] and he actually responded to all my questions unlike artfully acrylic.

Those tops are sick!... And btw kessil >> AI prime.
A Lid with either glass or mesh should not affect the light. I think BRS has a DIY mesh top you can fit for your tank... might be a little cheaper.

Wow, glad you posted this pic and hope they're still in business selling these tops lol.

@cromag27 makes these lids . Great product and is a life saver. There are cheaper options like diy but these look so sleek and they truly are custom how u want them . He has great communication unlike other top makers. But that’s just my opinion. Highly recommend [emoji1360]
