Torch bailed out

So I got a couple torches last Tuesday. One was a double head. I had constant flow on them and one of the double heads ended up getting a small tear. I bought a new powerhead and got random flow on them to where they would flow back and forth. Everything was going good until two nights ago it closed up real tight. I wasn’t too worried because it did it before and just opened back back up by the next morning. Well it never opened back up and this morning one of the heads completely bailed out. I’m pretty sure it was because of the tear. The other head and other torch are doing good and eating. Going to test parameters later or maybe tonight, whenever I have time. Can I just leave it be or do I need to cut the dead head off? It wasn’t a full split so it would be risky. Any advice or insight

I would say leave it. I have a torch that has 1 dead head and its not a problem

Sorry to hear.

Torches have been very sensitive for me to Temp and Alk changes.

Do you dose?
Automated?
If not,maybe your manual dosing caused a spike that the torch didn't like.

I use a doser. The temp did get up to 77.4 yesterday when it’s normally in the 76.3 range but I’m using a controller so I doubt it was sudden. I have been trying to lower my alk as it got all the way up to 10.3 so I’m still trying to dial in my doser even after a couple weeks

Now my other torch is super receded. I woke up at 9 and it was all out then went back to bed and woke up at 10 and though it bailed because it had receded so much. It’s SLOWLY coming back out. Normally I wouldn’t mind and trust that it would come back out but after the other torch head bailed Im worried
Params - Temp 77°, salinity 1.0266, alk - 10.2, calc - 450, mag - 1550, N03 - 25ppm, P04 - 0.09. I am working on lowering alk and nitrates
