So for the past few days one of the heads on my torch has a few tentacles that are closed up.. The only thing that has changed is my nitrates went from 5ppm to 10 due to dead chaeto.. All other parameters are good and all other corals including sps are fine. Sorry for the pic. Did not come out good

Phosphate between 0 and .25 all I have for a phosphate test kit is an api and it sucks to read the colors but it's definitely lower than .25 and no I have not done a icp test yet but gave been wanting to. Phosphate has been the same since it has been in there a couple months ago and has been fine I figured if my sps are good then the phosphate wouldn't be the problem but I could be wrong. The torch is the only one that seems to be struggling but only 1 head

Normal for them to close up from time to time. Sometimes they get irritated, they do this. Doubt a rise in nitrate caused this. Give it sometime and it should open back up.

It's hard to say. API kits are almost useless. Lps need phosphate. Get a ultra low phosphorus Hannah checker. Could be contaminants of some sort. If you are confindent in your numbers, fresh water/RO quality, and stability, I'd send in an ICP test.

I'm going to bring a water sample to my local collage and they will test whatever I want for cheap
