One of my 4 torches is dying.. 2 heads are pretty far gone already. With the other 2 fading. The other torches seem fine. ??

I have a hair algae outbreak right now and my UV light stopped working.

Tank is 13 months old, I've had these torches for about 6 months. I got this one with 2 heads, it grew and split to 4 and is now dying back. :(
Lighting hasn't changed since the beginning, it acclimates, turning on at 1130a off at 930p.
Flow, is middle ground, they always appeared happy. Idk how to guage rate of flow. Not being blasted but flowing..

changes to flow? new corals or stockings?

Using RoDi? Weird that rocks look so new being that old.

Absolutely RODI. Yeah, I was told my coraline died and caused the hair algae to take over. ? thinking a drop on Alk from 10. To 8.1 caused the upset.??

No new coral.. maybe flow i suppose.. with other corals growing maybe there was a slow change to the flow it is getting. Hmmm
I have noticed I have some palys and mushrooms being zapped by frogspawn too close

My tank went through a horrible hair algae out break and mine did the same thing.
The problem is the hair algae consumes a LOT of nutrients needed by the coral thus restricting polyp extension and growth.
I am now on my 12th day of algae removal and my coral are the best they have acted in months. My torch is really fluffing up now without the algae kicking it's tail.

Ahhh thank you for your input. I'm working on removing it today. How are you combating it? Scraping off and siphoning?

Yeah scraping off and taking out all I can. I added nice big cleaning crew also.
I did dose with Flux Rx and I am on day 10 of the 14day recommended schedule.
