I have a decent one head purple torch I’ve had it for maybe 6 months. I’ve noticed that it seems to extend more when flow is harder. If I put hard flow on my torch would the tenticals be super long or will it not make much of a difference. Atm I just got some light flow on it due to if I add to much flow to torch it is blowing others way to hard.

In my experience you don’t want to give a torch so much flow that it just completely sideways to one side. I give mine (and my tank) random flow so it blows in different directions

Yeah, laminar flow is not recommended for corals long term. Random patterns are more natural and seem to bring out the growth in torches especially IME. Not sure if flow and length of tentacles are related; think length is more influenced by proximity and species of surrounding corals.
