Yesterday I purchased my first LPS a Torch Coral. How is my flow? I seem to be getting the tentacles up without whipping them around too much. Feels like maybe on the low end of acceptable.

Video isn’t playable for some reason. Try uploading it to YouTube and posting the link.

in general though, I’ll say torches can handle pretty good flow as long as you’re not seeing flesh that’s being torn. It should have some gentle movement at a minimum, some kind of pulse action is best so it’s not just a constant blast.

Yeah I think the flow looks really good, too low if anything. It’s a good gentle swaying motion, could definitely be more if you want.
Thanks kinda what I guessed. I need to get a 2nd wave maker to help with dead spots and and add some more turbulence.

I couldn’t see the video for some reason.
I have a pink tip torch. I have had to move it twice around the tank to find it a happy place (full extension for most of the day and budded from two head to now three). My torch did not like to be in close proximity of direct flow. It seems to enjoy an area with moderate to high indirect flow (random movement pattern of tentacles continuously). I think you should be fine with it tentacles whipping around. Mine whipping quite a bit throughout the day. I’m no expert and still new to the hobby myself so take it for what it’s worth.

Please know I am not an expert but will share my opinions.
I would say your flow is on the low end, I don't think it would hurt to keep the current flow if it is happy and well. The 3 I have all get a little more flow than this. Although if you are wanting more flow the general rule is to avoid heavy constant flow in one direction. Hope I could help! A beautiful dude. :)
