Torch Coral Help

Mines looking sooo much better now too but I don't feed mines but it does catches food that go by it if it touches it lol
That's great! I'm glad we're both having a little success with these torches!

Here's my torches now they are way happier now that I stuck them on top of the egg crate bc the diamond doby loves to dig under the rock

Those darn, pesky diamond gobies haha All kidding aside, yours look amazing!

They used to be at least half a inch shorter before I stuck them on top of that lol...but I'm happy so far the holy grail to the right lost some color and I'm hoping it will color back up

Anyone in this post have any torches for sale by chance ?

My torch did better in the bad light and bad water of my 20 gallon than the great light and great water of my 85 gallon. I bought a setup that was a little more for sps than lps. However, the torch is still fine, just not as expanded. My clownfish couple consider it their vacation home.

Trying to revive an old thread because I recently bought a gold torch from an LFS and it is not doing well. It's been a whole week now and it still recedes most of the time. The tentacles are probably a quarter of an inch long when it extends out. My Alk is 8.2, Cal is 400, Mag is 1200, Nitrate is 1-2 PPM and Phosphate is 0.1 - 0.2 PPM.
Any thoughts?

Circling back, how are these torches doing now? Has anyone been having long term success?

I've had mine about 3-4 months, and it's recently become retracted for some reason.

Anyone having long term success with Aussie Gold Torches?

I'm really bummed that mine has been receding, given the cost of it, and the perceived lack of issues in my parameters.

Bump take II here... I too just got a gold torch. Slowly acclimated it to 1.025 and a coral QT tank. Everything else in the tank is thriving but the gold torch has withdrawn half its polyps.

Going to do an iodine dip and hope for the best...

Anyone tried looking at Manganese and Iodine levels? I’ve noticed with my large refugium Maganese and Iodine bottom out very fast. (Tested via triton ICP). I was having trouble with euphyllia as a whole, and also felt like they were in my cannot grow list even though everything else, tricky acros included, we’re doing fine. Some other post had mentioned they love manganese / iodine, and daily dosing seems to help me.

Torches are just finicky creatures, the left head looks far worse than the right one, I agree with others and just leave it be, dipping it/moving it will further cause stress. Only thing you can do is keep the water params perfect and pray! The right head looks normal though
