Torch Coral Lighting

wow.. that's pretty quick growth..

my frog went from 1 head about a year and a half ago, and is now probably about 8 heads.. my torch keeps trying to split but hasn't happened yet, it's a gold torch and I think it's probably a bit of a slow grower..

sorry for thread hijack.. lol..

Yeah.. the pump is behind it. I would say it has moderate flow. Not very violent at all but yeah I think I'll move it to the sand bed tonight. Just not sure about how high I sure turn up the light. It was under halides at the lfs. I can't imagine the kessil at it's lowest intensity would come close especially at the bottom. Thx

How old is your tank? It looks young.

Nice tank JT :)

Yeah the tank is almost 2 months old. Numbers have been stable for over a month.

Thanks for all your input

Thanks, just remember to your tank is still cycling, your numbers are in check but a tank doesn't fully stabilize until about a year, in time your torch will settle in, I moved mine a couple times (I know it's bad) but to get the right flow and where it was happy then it took off

About the same... about 4 hours after the light came on it was about half way open. Then by the time I turned the lights off it was withdrawn again. Haven't moved it at all yet.

Sure.. I'll do that tonight. When I say half way I'm comparing it to how it looked at the lfs under halides. I actually bought it at Reefapalooza last month and my lfs was kind enough to babysit it for me while my tank cycled. It acclimated almost immediately under his halides. It opened up more before I left his shop than it has in 3 days in my tank. He offered to watch it again if it continues to struggle in my tank. Hate to move it again but I might chance it if it hasn't perked up by Sun. Beautiful green torch..

and thanks for you help... greatly appreciated :)

This is about 4 hrs after the light came on. Looks about as good as it has since I brought it home but still only about half the size it was at the lfs.

that looks healthy and normal IMO.. very nice looking torch BTW..

the second pic is a little deflated, but the first looks pretty good..

That looks a lot better, once it settles in, it will get better in time too, and mine will act like that at night
