Hi R2R,

So long story short i tried to take the frag plug out and cracked the skeleton of this torch, lesson learned. As the skeleton cracked I didnt let go just held everything together and superglues the cracks. Dipped in CoralRx and left the frag in a low-med flow low light spot. Coral was doing ok, but now i'm noticing few of the tips are browning and tentacles on one side arent opening up as much. Wondering if this might end up with brown jelly or if the browning tips are from my shrimp picking at the damaged tissue. Appreciate any advise you might be able to give me. thank you

Corals are often cut to be fragged. So the skeleton being cracked shouldn’t be major. I would continue with coral rx dips and make sure calcium levels are good. Tentacles might die and fall off but with proper parameters, good light, and proper care should bounce back no problem. I know you said you have shrimp if you have peppermints I’d put them in sump or move them for the time as I’ve heard they can go after torches with food that gets in their tentacles, experienced this first hand. I hope everything goes ok!

thank you hoodstream, I really appreciate your input. Yes, i keep my Calc at 420-430 Trident dosing. Yep pepermint shrimp have been stealing food from all of my lps, working on rehoming them. I hope so too :)
