Torch Coral: not enough room for growth?

In my opinion I have a coral jam packed 40 gallon tank... little dirty too at the moment

My torch seems to be super happy (he's been in here mostly this location for 8-9 months, started from one small head), I am concerned that I put him on this very narrow tower and it will inhibit his growth..

What is the typical way a torch splits and takes over more space? horizontally i'm assuming?

Allow a 3-4” clearance from other coral especially since they deliver a good sting to other coral

Got it... in terms of the stalk.. will the stalk keep getting fatter, what happens if there is more room for it to fatten up because its out of horizontal rock space... ?

Not so much fatter but for growth, calcium and light are essential

Beautiful torch, sometimes less is more.
