Hi
my torch coral im having for 3 months now doing great but for past 4 days out of 3 heads only one is opening and its not fully expanded. today i dipped it in Seachem DIP as i was suspecting bacterial infection but so far has not improved. all my other euphylia corals are doing fine. all my parameters are spot on. any suggestion?

Please list your parameters and lighting, flow equipment.

Also, how long has the tank been set up?

Can you post some pictures of the torch and a full tank shot?

All this information helps us better diagnose the problem. Torches can be quirky though and mine certainly go through phases where they are happy then not happy and I've had them for years.

could just be splitting,
torches can be divas,
but are generally hardy once established....

did you introduce any other lps like acans, lobos, scolys etc?

oh and, some pics would be helpful

1. Of course, checking your parameters is a great first step but it's easy to be over confident on their accuracy. And the parameters we test for tell us in fact very little about water quality. Your parameters can be spot on but you will still have lead or copper in your water and you would never know. You can also have bacteria etc...
2. A water change or two is always a good first step in an "emergency." It can reduce toxins/irritants (chemical and biological) and replenish trace elements.
3. Toss in a bag of carbon.
4. Check flow.
5. Check lighting.
6. Check temperature.
7. Check salinity. Make sure you have a 35 ppt standard to double check calibration.
8. Check for broken magnets/equipment.
9. Check coral placement/contact.
10. pray to Poseidon

Sorry guys for late reply i had emergency travel.
I have been having the tank for over 6 months light and flow has not changed. I recently added ACAN but its not close to torch.
All my parameters are spot on and i checked several times. I changed water about 20% but to no effect and replaced carbon with fresh one. Im scratching my head couldn’t think of anything else i purchased ICP test and now waiting for the result
