So I’ve had my tank set up about 3 months now and I have 4 torches corals. it’s a waterbox 20. I am having problems and I know the guys on reef to reef will get me right. My salinity is 33.8 ppt my other parameters I haven’t tested but I do regular water changes every 10 days so I would assume they are in order. I dose 4ml of Ab+ every day and 5ml of phytoplankton. I have a small refugium in very unhappy especially my indo green. I was wondering if anyone had any idea why this may be?

Yes it’s like you going to a doctor with an ailment. Would you trust your doctor if all he checked was your pulse? He or she would run several tests to get a better understanding of the true problem. However give the phosphate, nitrite, and nitrates a look. That’s happened to me in the past but it truly could be a number of things.

Corals need stability in parameters, lighting, flow and nutrient to be happy. Unfortunately in a young tank like yours, any of the above could be a cause, especially if you have not even started testing or have any handle on how your current parameters are fluctuating on a daily basis. Also we don't know what kind of lighting/flow it is under

it’s just general good practice to be in the habit of testing,
especially when you’re new to this hobby.

later on, you will know more and be able to get away with not testing because you will know what to fix simply by visual cues…

but you are not there yet,
and in order for folks to help you….
what are your parameters?

I have a Nero 3 running random reef mode. It’s an average of 950 GPH. Lighting is a prime 16 hd running waterboxes lps schedule.

Agree with above. Before buying coral get a good set of tests (not api). Salinity being a little low already means lowered parameters salt depending.

These two are very closed

How long have you been dosing the ab+?
I stopped since corals reacted negatively.
