Just picked up this frag today from the LFS and noticed this growth in the center of one of the heads. Thought it was just the mouth but noticed what looked like a coco worm or something reaching out of it.

I’ve never seen this before and afraid it will kill off the head. It is already not opening as much as the other.

will try to get a video of the worm reaching out.

thanks in advance

I have a torch with a barnacle growing in the middle of it. Kinda ugly, but hasn't harmed the torch. The torch head has just grown around it in an odd shape.

Like I mentioned here, you can also carefully glue the hole shut. I tried this once and it worked (sort of). Killed the barnacle, but I got a tiny amount of glue on the torch and it seemed to "burn it".

The torch survived, but you can still see where the barnacle used to be, so it still looks ugly too.
