Put this Ultra Neon Torch in the tank a week ago, and I just wanted to get your opinion on placement before I shave down the plug and attach him to the rock. If you look at the photos/video, I was planning on placing him on the rock that is directly behind him. I have the Red Sea Reefer 350 (70 gallon display) with a Gyre 330 up above him, so he doesn't get strong or either medium flow, he is just receiving whatever bounces off the far aquarium wall and comes back. Just wanted to know your thoughts on how he is doing/health/if he is pleased with the location I have him in. I'm trying not to move him around too much since this can irritate them.

Tidal gardens has a great vid on euphyllia care and placement with some time devoted specifically to torches. You should google it and get it straight from the source... regurgitating though, he suggests frogspawn and hammers down low w a little less flow and light, torches up a bit higher with moderate + flow.

the flow is a little strong does it change at all to give it brakes or is it 24/7 constant flow? you should see it moving but with equal brakes in-between. in my experience that is the most beneficial for growth and less likely for issues to happen later.

also noticed from the video its being blasted only in one direction so I am guessing only one power head. maybe have two that alternate

right now the gyre 330 is the only one i have in there. it's on pulse mode right now varying between 30% and 10% with .5 seconds in between. i can switch up the flow or increase the time between pulses. im honestly still learning how to use the maximum potential of this gyre, but i know they have modes where they can pulse in multiple directions. maybe i can move it to the back wall of the tank too...

I see. maybe a little more time in-between so you can visually see it has a small brake from the flow. I noticed when I first put my hammer and torch in they were much happier with small brakes. also if it is new might take a little time to adjust to the flow and water conditions. honestly though it looks good just give it brakes so it is not getting stressed.
