Torch coral reproduction Q

I had a torch coral that died about 6 mo ago,I just noticed a baby on my rocks,how do torches reproduce?

Natural reproduction will occur for torch corals if they are well-maintained. It will need sufficient minerals to allow it to build new skeleton. It will need proper light and waterflow. Supplement feeding will accelerate the coral growth. When satisfied, the torch coral will expand itself by growing new heads off its base, known as "budding". Reproduction can also occur when female and male colonies release eggs and sperm into the water column. However, this way is less likely to occur since you would need multiple colonies.

hmmmmm, sorry, don't have one so don't have much experience.
Hopefully someone with experience will chime in

That would imply the second form or reproduction which is sexually, just unlikely if your mother torch had died. Maybe it was a last ditch effort In its own fight for survival. Any rate congrats! Consider it a second chance

Sounds like a polyp bailout. the last bit of life bailed from the skeleton to try and save itself.
