Torch Coral Showoff Thread

The tips curl, tips pop off, the "tentacles" have multiple green tips. All sorts of things. Lately, a couple tentacles turned white.

You said you just got it this weekend. Where in the tank did you place it? What kind of lighting do you have? What kind of flow did you put it in?

Any of these factors could have caused stress to the coral if not acclimated slowly.

Oh no, I've had it for about a year. It has always been odd. Actually, I had 3, 2 hammer and this torch get brown jelly about 8 months ago. One hammer died, the other bleached and has never looked the same and the torch just got ugly tips. They're still growing but they never looked the same.

I'll take some pics tonight when I get home. The hammer is really odd. It is like a hammer/frogspawn, and it's old base is deteriorating but it is still growing. It also bleached but the color never came back fully, it's a neon green instead of the darker green it started as.

You might not have enough calcium or strontium in your tank.

Torch corals are one of my favorites!
