torch coral struggling

how new is this coral? when did it take a turn for the worse? anything happen leading up to the brown jelly? just to get some background.

i've had it happen from my torch falling over and getting damaged.

The Bayer for lawn? And you have done this they put it back in normal tank you suggest new tank

Coral is 3 days from pet store others about two weeks and they are doing great and growing wonder it my anenome hit it and cause issues

Torch didn't fall but possible through night the anenome hit it the morning the anenome was on Sand bed instead of rock it normally is on

personally I would cut those 2 heads on the right at the base near the rock and plant them in the sand and depending how the ones on the left look maybe just toss them and be happy you still have 2 healthy ones. or at least separate the 2 good heads for now and follow what is mentioned above.

I have keep the one attached to the rock smelled both heads and I believe I will have my first waste of salt water experience which sucks I wanted a torch maybe went in to fast head first sucks to hit bottom right away lol lesson learned I noticed around all heads seemed damaged when they may have been shipped to store do you think that would have anything to do with it but my tank needs a good water change any suggestions since I am just starting to cycle leave or change the water stinks as bad the dead head

If this tank is new you do not need to put coral in it. If I was you I would see if the store will hold it until your tank is ready.

I talked to them cause they had some other bad ones in that shipment as well and they basically pointed the finger at me saying my issue since it is a new tank

Ik you posted a new thread stick with that one. Post all your parameters up ammonia, nitrite, nitrate others if you have them and how long you have been cycling. This will help us understand better. As for your torch sorry to hear about the loss. Did you take off the two heads on the right side? Maybe get store credit or hope they survive since they seemed fine in picture.

Doing the Iodine treatment hope it saves it looks and smells better today keep all the other trying that as well but unsure it will make it it has been soaking in the Iodine for a while today in hopes it will help

I soaked the one for maybe too long that has been soaked for 8 hours the other good one I only soak for 30 min or so then back in the tank cycle maybe a week

There is what I have checked with the Reef kit and ammonia other than that don't know what else I should test for considering we just started and the cycle isn't finished as well do you do water exchange in cycle some on internet say no thera say yes what have you experienced

Nice log! Keep it up.

So hopefully you didn't start on dec 4th. It seems from your log your near the middle of the cycle. I don't see nitrite which is what ammonia is broken down into.

ammonia is 0 which you want. Then your nitrite to be at 0. Once that's done, your NitRATE will be high and start to drop like yours seems to be! Good sign Your near the end of the cycle. When nitrates 0, you may begin reefing!!

Guessing your around the month mark since you started this tank? If so I would do a water change and hopefully that will set you in the right direction!
