Torch Coral Thinning?

Hi all, maybe just me being paranoid but it kinda seems to me that the bottom head has thinned some as far as tentacles go. Has three heads and is placed about half way up a 60 cube with a Kessil A360W about 7" over the water line. Do the polyps usually extend this far out? Sorry for the lousy cell phone pics. Just seeking some opinions. Have a great weekend

I don't see any pics. sounds like its starving but idk. It really sounds like its like it needs more light but with what you have It should be fine. Pics help 95% more.

is this something that happened overnight or over a longer time? whats your prams?

I wouldn't say overnight.. I've noticed it the past week but wasn't sure if was really thinning or just me. It's been a couple days since I've tested. I'll get some up to date numbers and post em. Thx for your time

hmm. well the only thing I can think of is starving, or something is agitating it or its just going through a phase. Like what Pulsing xenia does after a WC

It's the bottom polyp but I can't imagine it's being shaded out in a 3 polyp group?

well you can try so many different things and hope one works or you can frag the bady off and see if it bounces back,

Looks fine to me also. Mine do that several times. They really extend when its diner time.

Thx for the input.. still leaning the different phases these guys go thru. What's normal.. What's not..

usually the main sign of distress from any coral is staying closed or closing often, witch usually means agitation by snails, hermits, shrimp, bugs ect.. or water params. Turning white aka bleaching from too much or too little light, of course physical damage. and the entire colony shrinking witch could be starvation or a few other things. sometimes they just do like a hiccup and get winey from minor things like WCs

A healthy euphyllia is evident by not only the full fluffy look but by the flesh. When the flesh wraps around the outside of the skeleton it is happy. A very healthy one the skin can be an inch or more down the outside. A stressed one will have skin stop at the edge of skeleton top. Very stressed it will recede or even bail the skeleton.
