Hello all,

I am new to the coral game but picked up a torch coral about 2 months ago. It wasn't exactly in the best health when I bought it, but it was on sale has been surviving in the tank. I've recently noticed a growth and I am a bit concerned its polyp bailout. Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks!

Vermetid snail. Some of them are merely bothersome, but some varieties will really irritate your coral. There are a number of ways to deal with it. I would try supergluing over it (with a generous blob of glue). You might be able to scrape it off. I don't know if it would return or not that way.

Wow! Thats crazy--thank you so much. I never would have thought it was a snail, but it 100% looks like the pictures on google. I guess I will just hit it with a big blob of glue and hope that the health of the coral improves. Thanks again.
