Torch coral variants and lighting

Hello I have 2 torches placed at the same height and very similar flow. I just bought a yellow tip torch last night and it blew up in my tank. My New York Knicks torch on the other hand is looking healthy but the polyp extension is lackadaisical. I heard that orange corals need less light then green corals and I’m just wondering if I should lower my nyk torch coral in my tank.

The Knicks extends around 1-2 inches the yellow tip is extending almost 4 inches if not more

Could just be a difference between species of torches. I’m not a biologist, but indo torches vs Aussie torches will have different levels of polyp extensions, and I know different indo torches (which usually have longer extension than Aussie) have different levels of extension from within.

I’ve had torches that are as you describe, have 6+” polyp extension and seemingly identical torches don’t.

don’t know about your lighting question specifically., but thought I’d add this for your consideration.
