Ok, so I bought this as a torch coral about 8 months ago. Always looked the same, then I got new light a month or so ago. Shortly after new tips started growing so multiple bulbs on the tentacle, then the tentacles started splitting. I am just wanting to make sure it is indeed a torch and not a frogspawn, as I can find very little information about torch coral doing this.

It's a torch. But if it happened to be a frogspawn, what were you going to do to it? You message makes it sound like you don't like Frogspawn.

Ok, good, I thought it was a torch, but became unsure since multiple bulbs started appearing. I switched from a dual bulb t5ho fixture to an sbreeflights 30". Currently at 30% blue, 10% white, 100% moon. I have no problem with frogspawn, I was just going to move it if it was, I am planing to move my aussie torch near it soon.

I just wanted some reassurance since I couldn't find much about a torch developing multiple bulbs and split tentacles.

It could be a cross of both. I do know about a guy my LFS services. He has either a torch frogspawn or a hammer frogspawn. Can't remember which combo it was, but I did see it with my own 2 eyes. He said he has never seen another one like that in his 27 years of experience. Reason why I seen it was, because the guy let's him have a frag every once and awhile. You just may have one wherenext
