If it was polyp bailout nothing would be left. Any chance you have fish or inverts that ate the tentacles?

@MERKEY @ADAM

Ever see torch tentacles shrink up like a bta?

the alk is, IMHO, higher than "average". If it came from a tank with 7-8-9 range of alk, then it might be shocked by the change. In my experience, my doser failure brought my alk from 9.1 to 11.1, all my corals closed. If your other corals are fine, they may be used to the higher alk, but the torch would need to acclimate. Something to consider

Following.
Could something be bothering the stalk/ (unsure of name) ..underneath? From frag plug ?

I am not having any luck finding it now but there was a thread on here about someone whose torch ended up looking very similar. In his case it seemed to be caused from going from low to very high par light and it ended up recovering if i remember right.

Looks somewhat familiar what I had encountered in the past. Sometimes that happens when I put my unwashed hands in the water to clean my tank. Maybe theres somekind of lotion or chemicals that are on your skin?
It only happens for a day though.
How long has this been going on and is it all the time?
