Is my torch dying? It looks like one of the heads recently split but it's been looking worse over the last week or so.

This is from today, the head on the back side is almost completely retracted.

Here's a photo from January 19 - it's the most recent I have.

All my other corals look healthy and the torch is the only thing in the tank with issues. I've had it since September-ish.

Any ideas why it's looking like this?

Evening,

Sorry for the problem. It does look as if the head is receding. The good part is that it does not look rapid where the polyps bailed and you see white skeleton and no sign of BJd.

Have you run thru your water parameters to be sure not a ALK or salinity issue? Also, how long have you had it? If it is new, it may not like the light or flow. Maybe a dip and a new spot may revive it depend on some of the answers to the question. It is a nice coral.

My salinity is 1.025-1.026 like it's always been and dKH is between 7.7-8.0 ( ended at .49 on the salient test kit and chart only has even amounts).

I've had the torch about 6 months and at first it didn't like the initial spot and I moved it to the spot in my 2nd picture and tried moving him again to see if that would help, but it hasn't

I would check nitrates and phosphates also! That second pic looks really good like it was doing amazing! In my experience flow and lighting can greatly affect them as well!
