How many of you guys spot feed your torches daily, every other day, or weekly? I recently saw a post where someone spot feeds their torches mysis shrimp and reef roids daily and he is seeing some great growth and better coloration on them.

Just curious if anyone else is doing something like this... I've been considering it as of late

I never spot feed any of my coral anymore.
My daily feeding has lots of fine food for them to get along with the fish and other livestock...I wanted to achieve a one size fits all feeding and it appears to be working fine for me.

I spot feed all of my euphyllia once a week. My torch has been growing more quickly since I began using reef roids 6 months ago.

I spot feed all my corals 2-3 times a week with a mix of Reef roids, brine shrimp and Zooplankton. I definitely spot feed my torches (especially my Indo Gold torch) but have not see much growth the last 3 months. I have them place in the bottom of my tank with low flow/low light.

It depends on your bioload. If you bacteria can handle it without causing other unwanted algae in the tank, go for it. I feed all my corals and clams every two weeks or so. My bacteria population is awesome and they can dispose of any excess in hours, from my tests dosing ammonia to test them. Therefore, I can afford to feed my corals.

These are my recommendations:
If they look happy and they are expanding, they are getting what they need from the tank, leave them alone
If they look a bit unhappy and your tank looks super clean, they may not be getting what they need from the bioload, feed them a bit and wait to see how they respond.
I would never feed daily, this is just going to bring unwanted algae.

Please note that you will get many different responses and suggestions, everyone has a different experience and they may all be right, under specific circumstances. You need to find the one that works for you.
