Torch growing new heads

I have a 2- headed torch growing a new head on each head. My concern is the grayish brown towards the bottom in the white area. Sry my photo isn't the best.

I think it's just where the base of the torch is growing and calcifying to a skeleton. Think it's. A good sign that the torch is growing.imo.. I don't know just tryin to help out.!
