Torch has closed up and letting off slime?

Half my torch has closed up and is letting off slime from what appears like a mouth in the centre

How long has it been closed up? Everything that eats also poops so that may be the case. Mine do it off and on as well.

Literally less than 20 minutes. Just worried as i had a ricordea that had a mouth open like this letting off gunk and didnt make it. I did feed my hammer and torch the other day with a raw prawn.

Is it a brown stringy looking discharge?

sounds like waste. after its done, it will open as normal.

My torches close up from time to time. Sometimes for a day or two before expanding again with no problems. I don't worry about it anymore. To me it's just what torches do.

I Freaked out at first as my hammer did it too. But both seem to be doing fine now
