I added two new torches to my aquarium a month ago. They’re both indos. The green came to me with full fluffy tentacles and opened up right away. Now it’s super thin though it still fully extends. I’m wondering if it’s not getting enough light. Next to it is a dragon soul indo. It’s tentacles look great but I can’t seem to get the gold color to come out.

I have 2 kessil a160we’s about 8” over the tank that ramp up to 45% intensity. Do you think I need to up the intensity? My flow isn’t bad coming from both sides. I have a SICCE XStream on one side and a jebao wavemaker at full blast on the opposite.

Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 0-5ppm. (API test kit...)
Phosphate: .01
PH: 8.3
Kh: 9.1
Temp: 78

Currently dealing with Dino’s as well ... image.jpg image.jpg

I think both torches will benefit with increasing phosphates. As for the thinning of tentacles, it's pretty normal and common when flow is high (but the torch is happy). Also your Dino problem could also be exacerbated by your bottomed-out phosphates.

Yeah guy looks like your flow is high which will cause the thinning and elongating of the torches - nothing to worry about. They do not need a ton of light.

Honestly the one on the right does not look indo - I think I have the same one though. :)

yeah I’ve been feeding a lot more to try to get rid of them and increase my phosphates. Wondering if I should turn my skimmer off for a few days. If that doesn’t work, I’ve got the dr Tim’s treatment on the way. I also ended up turning down the flow to see if it’ll puff up a little more.

I would be careful with turning down the flow. Dinos love low flow. The torches are happy like that and they love high flow, I think you should keep it that way. Also, don't give up on your torch just yet. Colors may start showing as you gradually increase nutrients.
