Since I've got you. Just added euphylia today. Should I skip my scheduled 9 gram reef builder alk up sauce today? I add every other day.
Oh man thats a great question....sorry for the late response

Keep on schedule as you don't want to throw the rest of your tank off.

If the coral is damaged then yes skip anything that would greatly adjust any parameters;)

No worries on timing. Appreciate your input. All newbies are looking great. I'll make it snow as the weather predicted.

Some of you guys are just great!

Ran a LPs, softy reef for 12 years. And simplest of things can really cause problems. The things I'm learning over again.

I did my best to get a picture of the injured area. Its dark like webbing. Is that normal? Will it go away? I don't want to have to dip again, if i don't need too. Torch is currently waking up.

Water Parameters
Salinity 1.025
Alk 9.8
ph 8.0
Calcium 450-480
Mag 1250 Raising this 100 per day.
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates - test kits are bad. Going to have to wait for order to come in.
Phosphate >.< need to get one of those as well.
I feel like I'm forgetting something?
I know I'm paranoid.

My torch looked worse at its bad point. It eventually came back nicely. I never dipped mine.
Just make sure there isn’t any brown jelly there, then we have a different problem.

It's got a chance....the pic is hard to tell exactly what's going on.

Could be flesh clearing off of that area or could be new tissue trying to heal.

Just keep water parameters stable and if it does get brown jelly then it may be time to toss it.

No signs of bjd taking place, yet. I'm trying to avoid that at all costs. ticking him off more could result in bjd. He's doing fine as far as waking up and going to sleep during light cycle.
I just never seen that brown film before.

So after a couple of weeks of healing.
Torch tentacle is stuck. I tried using a turkey baster to loosen it. Didn't budge. I have never had this happen to me before.
Should I leave it?

Thoughts?

I wish I had a better camera. There are such beautiful gold and some hints of orange on this guy. Looks like he's going to make it. Crossing fingers.
I don't know if its how well Unique Corals takes care of their live stock. But I never had a torch respond so well and recover.
What did you do to get it to open up?

I left it alone. Kept an eye on water params. Got my mag up to 1450. Slowly at 100 per day. It finally accepted some cut up shrimp today. I came home to one lone tentacle stuck at the bottom of the frag plug. It's stuck.

I didn't want to make a new thread. Figured I would just use this one. Torch is doing better. Just that last issues of a stuck tentacle.

Thanks. I'll let it be.
Ya you are good ;)

Torches lose tips and tenticals all the time, scared me at first, but then after talking to aot of torch keepers it seems to be pretty normal.

I'm glad to see yours have a good turn around!

Great save , yours really came back after a stressful time ! We had our first arrive cold and upset, few days later it went ful on bjd.
Best advice I ever received here was sometimes leaving them alone and they'll likely to recover

I haven't had much luck with torches surviving shipping. I am not comfortable ordering them at all anymore. BJD seems to kick in right away. I'm happy this guy is healing.
Patience is very rewarding in this hobby.

We have a Rasta torch we bought online , seller was fantastic. It was pouting the last few days after I moved the Nero 3 thinking the direction change would help it dance better..well after putting it back , the torch is back to normal. Lesson learned

@Goaway did your torch make a full recovery?

Mine looks very similar to the first picture you posted in this thread and I'm pretty worried about it. Got mine in early April and it looked great up until about a two weeks ago. I believe I've discovered why it's so irritated, and I'm working to correct it, but I'm worried it's too late. Did yours bounce back?
