So back on April 1st I went to Reef Currents here in town and purchased several corals. 2 were torches, a 7 head bi-color and a 3 head Aussie gold. Right away the Bi-color lost 3 heads, I figured it was due to the stress of the move.... then yesterday I went into my office where my tank is and my gold had lost 2 heads. I checked all water params and nothing had changed or was out of whack.

I did turn up the LEDs 5% earlier in the week... could that have killed my torch? It was in the middle of the tank, an area I have designed with a little less flow, but it gets the highest PAR (I imagine).

I moved it to the side of the tank, less flow and less light. Hopefully I don't lose the last head.

Any info or advice?

What are your water peramiters?
What type of lighting are you using ?
What type of light was the torches under?
What intensity do you run your lighting?
Did you light acclimate the torches?

What are your water peramiters? 450, 1320, Alk 8.4-8.6 (hard to get exact on the Red Sea test), o nitrate (actually trying to get those up), 0 Ammonia,
What type of lighting are you using ? LED (RapidLed Onyx, 3 fixtures)
What type of light was the torches under? LED 12" off the water, when I bout them 3 weeks ago at the show, but at the stores shop no idea
What intensity do you run your lighting? Before I changed it, white 40% max 1 hour blue 50% max 1 hour, both ramping slowly from 5am to 9 pm
Did you light acclimate the torches? I did when I brought home 3 weeks ago. The gold has been good for 3 weeks (other than my clown nipping a couple of tips off)

I would say either there is somthing killing them. Maybe your clown? What other critters are in tank. Also your light is on for a very long time. You look for pests?

Theres been a few of these complaint recently. It seems that high alk and low nutrints (along with higher lighting) seems to make these just let go. It seems sudden but its not, its a long time coming. Personally Id lower the alk before I lowered the lights or increase nutrients..
but Id like to see the numbers too.
